The book discusses the subject of memory of the Eastern Borderlands among the displaced people and their descendants. The author interviewed the successive generations: the people brought up in the Eastern Borderlands, their children, grandchildren, and sometimes great-grandchildren. These conversations were used to analyze the vision of the Eastern Borderlands in the social memory.
