Żyjemy w czasie pandemii nudy. Nie sposób jej lekceważyć. Autor podejmuje ambitną próbę względnie kompletnego ujęcia tematyki nudy i podatności na nudę oraz nudzenia się. Pisze o nudzie w perspektywie psychologii i filozofii, ale także pedagogiki, socjologii, teologii i psychiatrii. Przedstawia definicje, teorie i typologie nudy, omawia sposoby pomiaru stanu nudy (nudzenia się) i nudy jako cechy (podatności na nudę) oraz opisuje częstość jej występowania. Rozważa negatywne konsekwencje przewlekłej (chronicznej) nudy, ale też pozytywne skutki nudy przelotnej (sytuacyjnej). Prezentuje także wyniki własnych badań nad nudą w ujęciu psychologicznym i socjodemograficznym oraz swoje refleksje teoretyczne dotyczące wewnętrznej struktury pojęcia nudy. The author shows terms, theories and the typologies of boredom, discusses the methods of measuring the state of being bored, examines boredom as a quality and describes its frequency. He reflects on the negative consequences of chronic boredom as well as the beneficial ones of situational boredom. He presents the results of his own research on boredom in Poland in the psychological and sociodemographic aspect and ponders on the theories about the internal structure of the notion of boredom.
