Legacy of Polish Jews

How did Polish Jews contribute to the development of Polish, Jewish and world civilization? What influence did Polish-Jewish roots exert on their unique biographies, life choices and inspirations? What obstacles did they have to surmount? Thirteen authors pose questions on the relation between Polish and Jewish cultures by taking a close look at the lives of prominent Jewish men and women whose achievements constitute the legacy for all the subsequent generations. The universal value of their achievements is presented against the backdrop of their respective fields—literature, religion, humanities, politics, sciences, economy, music, film, theatre and art. The volume accompanies the Legacy exposition at POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
